The More Than Words Program was designed specifically for parents of children ages 5 and under on the autism spectrum and with other social communication difficulties. This unique Program was developed by The Hanen Centre and is offered to parents around the world by Hanen Certified speech-language pathologists.

In the More Than Words Program, you will learn ways to help your child communicate and interact during everyday routines and activities.
What Parents learn in the More Than Words Program:
- How your child communicates and the next steps to take
- How your child learns best
- What motivates your child to communicate
- How to turn everyday activities into opportunities for learning to communicate
- How to use pictures and print to help your child's understanding
- How to talk so that your child can understand you
- How to develop your child's play skills
- Why your child behaves in certain ways and what you can do about these behaviours
- How to help your child make friends
The More Than Words Program offers:
- 8 training sessions in small, personalized groups
- A Hanen Certified speech-language pathologist who leads the Program and has received special training from The Hanen Centre
- A pre-Program consultation for you and your child with your speech-language pathologist
- 3 individual visits for you and your child with your speech-language pathologist
- Individual video feedback sessions of you interacting with your child, so you can "see" what is helping and what you can modify to help even more
- The chance to connect with other parents

- How to talk so that your child can understand you
- How to develop your child's play skills
- How to read books with your child to help your child learn language
The It Takes Two to Talk Program offers:
- 6-8 training sessions for parents in small, personalized groups
- A Hanen Certified speech-language pathologist who leads the Program and has received special training from The Hanen Centre
- A pre-Program consultation for you and your child with your speech-language pathologist
- 3 individual visits for you and your child with your speech-language pathologist in which you are videotaped while practicing strategies to help your child achieve specific communication goals. This helps you to "see" what is helping and what you can modify to help even more
- The chance to connect with other parents
