About Us

About Us

Beyond Words Therapy was established in 2014 by Elizabeth Garcia, Speech Pathologist and Director. Beyond Words was developed to provide a supportive service to families living in and around the Sunshine Coast Hinterland region. We provide affordable and innovative speech therapy services in the comfort of your own home or at our fully equipped clinic room (located in Maleny).

We are experienced in supporting clients with and without disabilities across the lifespan and are passionate about providing a high quality, family-centred service. We support clients and their family’s to have a strong voice in their assessment and therapy approach and ensure parents and significant others are involved in their child’s development.

Clinic Services

Our new office is perfectly situated in the center of Maleny town, with easy access from both Bunya Street and Lawyer Street. We are situated directly opposite the Maleny State Primary School and next to Baker and Robinson Lawyers. There is ample street parking from either direction. There is a spacious waiting area with books and toys for children, and a large fully equipped therapy room. Both rooms have air conditioning, polished timber floors and have been freshly painted inside and out.

Mobile Services

Our mobile service covers an area within 50km radius from the nearest clinic location (see below). We currently service Caboolture, Woodford, Beerwah, Glass House Mountains, Maleny, Montville, Mapleton, Palmwoods, Landsborough, Conondale, and everywhere in between. Our mobile service has proven to be very beneficial to parents with busy family schedules and for children with disabilities.

Tele-Health Services

Tele-Health is provided via Skype and is in real time video and audio. All that is required is a computer with an Internet connection, a webcam, and an audio headset.
Tele-Health is suitable for screening for speech and language delays and/or disorders and for general therapy. It is designed specifically for children and/or adults that live in rural and remote communities that have difficulty accessing our mobile and/or clinic based services. This service can also be used to provide a helping hand to schools by linking in with Teachers and Teacher Aide to provide in-class support.
